'Homeless in the City' w/ Christy (6)

In 2016, I'll be choosing a random homeless person to take to lunch each week.

I have titled this movement "Homeless in the City," and today, it led me to a woman named Christy.

Christy just moved to Atlanta three months ago. She hails from Tallahassee, Florida and moved here due to a new promising relationship. She says in the short relationship, her boyfriend gradually became abusive and started to show signs of aggression.

A week ago, she says he beat her unmercifully and kicked her out of his apartment. She has been homeless ever since and sleeps on the streets of Atlanta.

She does have a son who is eleven. Her son was adopted by another family at the age of two. Christy says she wasn't in a good financial situation to care for him at the time.

We dined at 'Jimmy John's' in downtown Atlanta.
