'Homeless in the City' w/ Mike (20)

In 2016, I'll be treating a random homeless person to lunch each week.

In this week's 'Homeless in the City,' I was led to a man named Mike.

Mike has been homeless for two years. He is originally from Egypt but says his parents came to America at a young age seeking a better life.

Mike says that he lost his way after being abruptly laid off his construction job. The bills began to pile up and he began to lose his inspiration for gaining new employment and for life.

Mike says that his parents never quite found that "better life" that they were searching for in America.

He says he loves 7 11 pizzas, so that's what I fed him.
